Taylor Montecalvo

Named the Service Learning Student of the Year in April 2017 by High Point University.

Was nominated to become a "Who's Who" student by High Point University on April 27th, 2017. In order to be nominated for this award students had to achieve a 3.5 GPA and have a minimum of 4 teacher recommendations. This society was established in 1934 to honor outstanding students and is conferred by more than 1,000 universities and colleges nationwide.  

I was awarded the North Carolina College Media Association's 2017 $250 Student Media Stipend on February 25th. This award will cover the printing costs of Weaving, a book documenting immigrants to the High Point community. 

Apogee won the 2017 Best of Show award from the North Carolina College Media Association on February 25th, 2017. The editorial board (including myself) accepted the award. 

Paradigm won the Non-Fiction section of the Pheonix Reading Series in 2015. This narrative is told in 3 parts, each part adopting a different perspective. 

Absolved won Second Place in the Non-Fiction category at the 2016 Pheonix Reading Series.

Breakups won Poetry Honorable Mention at the 2016 Pheonix Reading Series.
